1 This project set out to renovate No.C227 of the famous Sears Homes. Sold through mail order catalogs and shipped in parts that the homeowners assembled themselves on their chosen property, the conception of Sears Modern House represents the shift for construction technology and market to be freed from any contextual limitation.
2Maintaining some memories of the programs in the existing, the proposed plan is vaguely divided in 4 quadrants around a spiral staircase in the heart of the house. Levels of the house are also split so that only one public and one private program remain on each floor. The split levels allow for open vertical spaces so that hot air can be drafted out of the house.

3 This renovation proposal aims to re-ground the Sear's unspecified modular typology in a specific ecological context. By adding a split roof and chimney, the house interacts with air, the natural element every site pocesses and thus adding thermal comfort to temperate and tropical climates.
